Variable Optical Attenuators:
Kotura’s Ultra-VOA products feature current-drive, fast response times and no moving parts. They enable applications like power leveling in ROADMs, wavelength tracking in DWDM networks, and transient control in fiber amplifiers, 40 Gb/s and 100 Gb/s receivers.
The VOA silicon photonics building block is a single-mode optical waveguide with p-i-n diodes integrated on an SOI substrate. The device relies on the free carrier absorption to control optical power in the waveguide. The higher the current across the diode, the greater the attenuation. Kotura’s Ultra-VOA products exhibit best-in-class characteristics of sub-microsecond response time, wide attenuation range, low PDL, and compact footprint.

WDM Multiplexers and Demultiplexers:
Our WDM multiplexer products offer the best combination of performance and size. They can be customized for any wavelength range from 1200 to 1700 nm, provide Gaussian or flattop filtering, and support from 4 to 40+ channels. Wavelength spacing can be CWDM (20 nm), LAN WDM (800 GHz) or DWDM (100 GHz).
