Building in Quality
There’s more to silicon photonics than science. When it comes to bringing silicon photonics into applications, it takes hands-on manufacturing expertise. What sets Kotura apart is the co-location of a broad range of expertise including product development, photonic design, process integration, assembly and test.
The Kotura facility comprises 22,000 square feet and is dedicated to the design, fabrication, packaging, testing, and production of silicon photonic devices and modules. The 4,200 square feet wafer fab is a fully CMOS-compatible wafer fab. The 250-nanometer Class 100 fab processes wafers for both R&D and production runs, ensuring stable process transfer from R&D prototypes to volume production. Kotura chip designs can be readily transferred to a large commercial fab when high volumes are needed.
Immaculately maintained, our fab has been in mass production since 2006 and ensures that new designs are manufactured to the highest quality standards and ready for commercial deployment.
Packaging is done either at Kotura, for smaller volume applications, or at one of Kotura’s contract manufacturing partners for larger volumes. Kotura and all partners are ISO 9001 certified. We manufacture products with the highest quality; we respond quickly to demand changes and maintain full product traceability.
